What Do Strymon Say?

The magical combination of tremolo and reverb is the earliest example of a perfect guitar effects marriage. First pioneered within historic amplifiers of the 1960s, this harmonious coexistence has made its way onto countless records and performances — from early surf, swampy bayou blues, spaghetti westerns and film noir soundtracks, to modern day indie rock. As music moves forward, guitarists continue rediscovering the inspiration provided by this perfect pair.

Flint is a studio-class effects pedal that delivers this classic combination. We carefully studied our favorite classic tremolo and reverb circuits, examined the sonic complexities and faithfully accounted for every detail in our hand-crafted algorithms. Flint is essentially two pedals in one, with tremolo on one half and reverb on the other.

Flint gives you the pulsating, soothingly hypnotic effects pioneered in vintage amplifier tremolo circuits, along with three classic and completely unique reverb algorithms.

On the tremolo side of the pedal you can choose between the sonically complex ’61 Harmonic Tremolo, the swampy and sultry ’63 Power Tube Tremolo, and the sharp and balanced ’65 Photocell Tremolo. On the reverb side you can select the classic ’60s Spring Tank Reverb, the inventive ’70s Electronic Plate Reverb, or the nostalgic ’80s Hall Rack Reverb.

With nine parameters to tweak, you get extensive control over the tremolo and reverb characteristics. Go from splashy, pulsing twang, to throbbing, swampy blues, all the way to ambient, trembling, and serene reverberated pads.

Couple that with true bypass, and a premium quality analog front end and output section, and you have the history of tremolo and reverb in a pedalboard friendly format.

Amazing Reverb Pedal - Love it!

One of the standout features of the Fathom is its four different reverb modes: Hall, Plate, Lo-fi, and Sonar. Each mode has its own unique character, allowing you to tailor your sound to fit any musical genre or mood. The Hall setting provides a rich and spacious reverb, perfect for creating an ambient atmosphere. The Plate mode offers a brighter and more pronounced reverb, ideal for adding a touch of sparkle to your sound. The Lo-fi mode is particularly interesting, as it adds a bit of grit and texture to the reverb, giving it a vintage feel. Lastly, the Sonar mode introduces a subtle modulation to the reverb, which adds a sense of movement and depth to your sound.

The Fathom also features a sustain switch, which allows you to hold and sustain the reverb effect for as long as you like. This is perfect for creating long, dreamy soundscapes or for adding an extra layer of depth to your playing. Additionally, the pedal has a mix knob, which lets you blend the reverb effect with your dry signal, as well as a decay knob, which controls the length of the reverb tail.

In terms of sound quality, the Fathom delivers a pristine and natural reverb that can enhance any playing style. Whether you're looking to add a subtle touch of reverb to your clean tones or create a massive wall of ambient sound, the Fathom has you covered. I found that it performed exceptionally well in both live and studio settings, making it a versatile addition to any musician's toolkit.

After only ever using the reverb setting on my amp, this felt like a step up in the reverb game. Love it. Bought this 2nd hand from Pedal Jungle and other than not having the original box (this was declared at the point of purchase) it looks to be as new! As always Pedal Jungle are an absolute delight to deal with. Thank you again.

Thanks once again Jon, and thanks also for the great review mate. Paul

Hizumatis Fuzz

Pedal Jungle deliver another winner with this EQD Hizumatis, from their used collection. Very happy with the service and description on the second hand side of things. If I hadn’t of been told I would have sworn it were brand new. Now onto the pedal itself. If you’re a fan of all things Fuzz this pedal is a must have for your collection. You can strum out chords with this one without it sounding like a complete mess and it’s exceptionally good with those doom/stoner rock tones. It can be massive in sound and tones or if you wish it to be, it can be dialed down for a more suitable fuzz effect.

Much obliged sir for your continued custom and support of our small business. Glad the Hizumatis delivers for you. Enjoy! Paul
