The Big Fuzz - Civil War Edition from Frost Giant Electronics is a carefully executed recreation of the legendary 1991 V7 Civil War Big Muff, reimagined with tighter tolerances and modern, top grade components while staying true to the original’s unmistakable voice.

After several years out of production, Electro-Harmonix re-entered the fuzz world in the early ’90s with the Russian-made Sovtek units, including the now mythical Civil War version. Unlike earlier Big Muff iterations, the V7 Civil War introduced a reworked set of component values that delivered a more focused low end, aggressive mid character, and a tighter overall response; qualities that have made it a favourite among players chasing heavy, authoritative fuzz tones.

Frost Giant’s Big Fuzz Civil War is based on the Big Muff V7 Civil War Second Edition schematic, using a deliberate blend of Mylar and Ceramic capacitors, metal film resistors, and NPN BC548B transistors. This component selection is key to recreating the texture, saturation, and feel of the original circuit while benefiting from improved consistency and reliability.
