The Rhodium Electronics AR275 ToniBender isn’t just another Tone Bender clone, it’s a meticulously hand built reimagining from a one-man UK builder with a background in industrial electronics. The AR275 takes the iconic Vox Tone Bender MKII blueprint and adds modern reliability, expanded tonal range, and a refined fuzz character that holds its ground in any mix.

At its core are NKT275 germanium transistors (hFE 60–90, low leakage), carefully biased for sweet, responsive breakup. These particular NKT275s, made in the USA during the ’90s and sought after by boutique builders, have been tuned here to deliver a more stable and consistent fuzz signal than the traditional Fuzz Face setup, without losing the raw magic of germanium.

An internal bias trimmer opens the door to a wide tonal spectrum from the rounded woolliness of a vintage Fuzz Face to a Zonk Machine-style snarl or Schaller fuzz bite, or keep it in the sweet spot for that unmistakable Tone Bender dynamic punch
