The Rhodium Electronics AR275 ToniBender isn’t just another Tone Bender clone, it’s a meticulously hand built reimagining from a one-man UK builder with a background in industrial electronics. The AR275 takes the iconic Vox Tone Bender MKII blueprint and adds modern reliability, expanded tonal range, and a refined fuzz character that holds its ground in any mix.

At its core are NKT275 germanium transistors (hFE 60–90, low leakage), carefully biased for sweet, responsive breakup. These particular NKT275s, made in the USA during the ’90s and sought after by boutique builders, have been tuned here to deliver a more stable and consistent fuzz signal than the traditional Fuzz Face setup, without losing the raw magic of germanium.

An internal bias trimmer opens the door to a wide tonal spectrum from the rounded woolliness of a vintage Fuzz Face to a Zonk Machine-style snarl or Schaller fuzz bite, or keep it in the sweet spot for that unmistakable Tone Bender dynamic punch

With its all analog circuit, point-to-point wiring, and premium component selection, the AR275 ToniBender delivers everything from 1960s psychedelic sustain to the gritty edge of early ’70s rock.

For players who want the classic Tone Bender spirit but with greater tonal control and road ready consistency, the AR275 ToniBender hits the sweet spot between history and innovation.

This is a 'used' pedal, in our Grade 4 excellent condition, with no real signs of use beyond the raw style enclosure marks, and also comes with the original box.

Durham Zia Drive

The Durham Electronics Zia Drive has been on my gigging board for many years.
It is perfect for vibrant chord playing and punches through the mix. The original one I had was replaced by this one from Pedal Jungle, after looking for one for quite some time. They are now hard to source in Europe. I have corresponded with Al Durham (Texas) and he has event built me a pedal, the Zia Drive is his best for my purposes, it just sounds like an extension of the amp.

Super cool Zonk!

I enjoy the zonk sound and this really has few extras up its sleeve with the filter and bias controls. Filter sculpts the low end as fuzz can have "too much" or not enough, it means you can control "fattness". Bias has a range of sounds available from spitting gated fuzz or girthy full on fuzz. Spectacular find and utterly love the design and size of it. Plays with single coils or humbuckers! Choose your weapon and have fun!
